2.1 时空智能与智慧城市 Spatiotemporal Intelligence and Smart Cities
时空智能即时空数据分析和价值挖掘的理论和方法体系,智慧城市是时空智能的典型应用场景。应用新兴的时空大数据及其智能分析方法于智慧城市诸场景,可望更加细致地回应人们对城市生活质量提升的现实关切。
在理论和方法上,本人的主要研究方向包括人类移动和活动的基本统计物理规律和模型、轨迹和时谱数据的格局分析和价值挖掘方法、空间交互和地理网络的结构和功能分析方法、时空联合推断方法、时空运筹方法等。在应用上,本人及团队的研究方向包括智慧城市的规划、设计、治理等环节,以及用地、交通、环境、风貌、基础设施、公共服务、旅游游憩、商业智能、精准防疫等应用领域。
本方向的研究工作依托多个校地、校企合作平台开展,并与北京、宁波等国内主要城市政府相关部门,以及华为、阿里巴巴等业内领先企业保持了密切的合作或协作关系。
Intensive research engagement in the theories and methods of spatiotemporal intelligence and their real-world, smart-city applications.
Specific research topics cover:

Experiences in 10+ academic and practical projects on smart city building across China and abroad. Heads the Lab for Spatiotemporal Intelligence and GeoDesign at CALA, PKU. Close collaboration with major central and local government agencies and leading firms, including Huawei, Alibaba, etc.
2.2 生态城市与国土空间规划 Ecological Urbanism and Territorial Planning
生态城市建设涉及一系列基础和应用性科学问题,包括区域和城市生态空间的格局和过程特征、生态系统服务的价值实现机制、以及跨尺度国土空间规划的方法框架等。这些问题在我国生态文明建设的时代背景下具有重要的理论和实践意义。
本人的生态城市研究与智慧城市研究共享相同的方法论视角,即空间交互视角。结合生态学的领域知识,研究以生态系统服务流概念为核心,通过分析服务流的载体动力学规律、空间异质性影响和尺度推移模式,尝试理解区域和城市生态系统的格局、过程、尺度和机制及其与生态系统服务价值实现的关系,以此支持各层级国土空间规划、乡村振兴、以及“一带一路”背景下的开发规划工作,并为生态补偿、生态修复等政策制定,乃至微观尺度的循证式海绵城市和生态系统设计提供参考。
本方向的研究工作密切结合规划和政策制定实践,由此与各相关中央部委、地方政府和规划设计专业机构保持了广泛的合作关系。
Intensive research engagement in large-scale ecology, hydrology, landscape planning and design, with a special emphasis on the spatial interaction dynamics in ecosystems and featuring the concept of Ecosystem Service Flows (ESF).
Specific research topics cover:

l Mechanisms for ecosystem service value realization from an esf approach
l Cross-scale territorial planning methodology
l Evidence-based landscape design

2.3 环境感知与环境行为 Environmental Perception and Behavior
揭示人与环境交互的感知和行为机制,不但对建成环境规划设计具有指导性意义,也有助于为时空智能研究中的人类移动性规律探索建立生理、心理基础。本方向研究工作包括实验技术开发和基础研究两个方面。
环境感知和环境行为研究通常依赖实验方法。为此,本人及团队开发了一系列先进环境感知/行为实验支持技术,包括基于无人机、全景相机、景深相机等新传感手段的灵活场景建模技术,基于虚拟现实、增强现实、智能体建模(ABM)和Unity实时渲染的动态场景暴露技术,基于步行、骑行、驾驶等平台的运动模拟技术,以及整合量表和多种生理传感器、并具有眼动、动作捕捉和轨迹追踪能力的同步测量技术。这些技术共同构成了灵活适应于各种研究目的的实验框架,部分处于国际领先水平。
在实体问题上,本人的研究兴趣主要包括环境感知中的多感官交互机制、运动中的环境感知特征、环境行为的社会经济根源,以及传统设计艺匠的循证式考察等。
Research focusing on the physiological and psychological basis of human mobility and behavior patterns in the built environmental, and spanning from technology development to lab-based empirical analyses.
Technologies or experiment protocols developed include:
l Automatic and agile scene modeling protocols enabled by drone, panoramic camera, and field depth camera-based photogrammetric technologies
l Dynamic exposure technologies enabled by VR, AR, MR, Agent-based modeling, and Unity-based real time rendering
l Kinetic simulators that support walking, cycling, and driving simulation experiments
l Synchronized physiological and psychological response monitoring techniques that integrate EEG, EDA, HR, and eye-movement monitoring, motion capturing, movement trajectory recording, and VR/AR/MR-embedded questionnaires in cognitive experiments simultaneously
Research topics cover:
l Multi-sensory interactions in environment perception
l Environment cognition and behavior in motion
l Socioeconomic and cultural roots of environmental perception and behavior

2.4 城市史与城市规划理论 Urban History and Planning Theories
本人对城市史学具有长期兴趣。特别地,地理环境和人类社会的政治、文化、社会经济结构、及其对外关系的协同进化机制是本人的主要兴趣所在。具体研究问题包括传统社会生态系统的环境适应性、自然保护地人地耦合系统的韧性、以及城市化历程中的多维度共变关系等。
A long-time research topic of personal interest. Focusing on the synergy between human society, geographical settings, and the built environment. Specific research topics cover the adaptability of traditional ecological wisdom, resilience of the coupled human and nature system (CHANS), and multi-dimensional social evolution in the urbanization process.
